Wow the last day of April already-this was a month that seemed to go slow as the weather was soooo up and down with temperatures all over the place, rain, and strong winds and storms. We are cool again now for a few days. I much rather have cooler weather-no need for a/c and the blooms last so much longer too.
I got in some of the seeds I had ordered today, too wet for grass cutting, and my allergies have hit me today-which I find strange with the cooler weather. I am very allergic to oak pollen and that is all over the yard and steps here-so thinking that must be it.
I am not totally enamored with the Royals-never have been, but I have really enjoyed the King's speeches-he is just so "normal" and he seems like he would be a wonderful friend to have. I love his humor too.
Was quite impressed with him.
I have been reading several books from authors I hadn't read before-and have enjoyed some really good writing-I will share a few of those soon.
I bought a set of these on Amazon-and love them. Perfect for water for smaller birds and butterflies or can use for small seeds. There were 5 I think all different colors photo from amazon
This time of year we really enjoy the orioles that come by to visit us. We have the bright orange and black colors, some are yellow and black which I am thinking are the females, and there are black ones that are the orchard orioles. I so enjoy seeing them and hearing their songs. So far looks like we have one pair of hummingbirds that seem to be sticking around too. I soooo miss all the hummingbirds we had at the woods house-I went through a couple hundred pounds of sugar to keep all the feeders filled-around a dozen or so of large feeders.
Happy May Day tomorrow I remember when I was a child growing up, my Mom and I would put together baskets with fresh flowers to share with our neighbors.

This photo was taken from here-a tutorial on how to make one
Happy end of April and Happy May Day
