Spring has arrived early here in the Ozarks-Missouri.
I did find an opening to do my shopping at Wal mart yesterday rain free. Got everything down the hill and steps into the house before it began to sprinkle rain. So that was awesome. Later last night we got the storms-wind- lightening-thunder-lots of rain--so I am thinking we are closing in on an early Spring.
However, living in this area since retirement sometimes with this early weather-we can get a hard frost or freeze just as things are blooming-not good for some crops. That's Mother Nature though.
Last night into this morning, I have been washing up canning jars getting them ready to fill with more freeze dried foods-I still have #10 cans of peas, green beans, broccoli, and cauliflower that need to get into easier to use containers-so I can use them. I did the dried mushrooms this morning-so after washing and drying more jars-probably later this afternoon can fill up more jars. I did bring several boxes of canning jars-many different sizes here to the lake. Was hoping for a gas stove by now-as this old electric stove-ugh-won't do for canning. At this stage of my life-I am liking these freeze dried fruits and veggies will be really nice to have around.
I did notice I don't have more wide mouth rings left-when I was canning a lot of our foods I never kept the rings on the jars after they cooled from the canner. For these freeze dried foods I want to keep the rings on- So just ordered some more.
This is my latest puzzle I am getting ready to do. I use jigsaw planet which I really enjoyed-have mentioned them before-love that they have soooo many options-puzzle shapes, puzzle piece sizes, so much to choose from or upload your own photos. Since we are nearing spring-I have been choosing spring type themes This one I just selected-so will set it up by finding all of the borders first.
Enjoy your day
