It Feels Like Spring

The sun is shining bright today and a little past noon we are at 59 degrees F  I love it

I may try to take a walk today and see how my chest handles it. I am hoping I have made the turning point with this acid reflux. I have been really ill since early last year.  The best thing I did for myself was to get off the two medications back in November, and use an organic aloe vera juice. It has been since November that I started taking this before our main meal and this week I feel like I just may be approaching the turning point. Hoping so.  Have to really really watch everything I eat.

I am back to more cleaning-a deep cleaning-just finished up with the bathroom this morning. Next up go over all the furniture again-most of it is wood, and then tackle the kitchen-that really needs it too. Want the house to be in really good shape before Spring.

I pinned the bag layout a couple days ago, using quilting curved pins-that are used for securing the layers together.  .  I needed to use some of the large pins as I ran out of the smaller ones.  These smaller ones are hard to find-but I did find them online and ordered more. The larger ones are perfect to use for securing  the quilt layers together when hand quilting.

I was able to get better photos this time

I do not have as many of my own hand dyes left-I do have a special set that I may choose one or two of those to add to my fabric selections. I have several larger pieces of mine that I can cut up too.

The green and white fabric on top middle is kantha, the flower pounded is mine

The light yellow on top is natural dyed with mimosa that I did at the woods house, the deep blue is mine, and beside it-the green piece is mine.
Over the years I have been gifted some lovely hand dyed fabrics from friends online. Thank you again-

When the computer and tv went down I decided a good time to get a different schedule for my day instead of the computer or the tv. I am enjoying getting back to reading my bible again-every morning to start my day and then making  time during the day to paint.

When I was cleaning in my craft room-I looked at the tins again that are full of Crayola items-mostly different pens. I bought those on their internet site when they had sales running. I even found watercolor crayons.  I am enjoying  using the different pens so far . I am going to use these to practice flowers etc. Thought it could help me with painting better? not sure  but so far they have been fun to use.

   Enjoy your day!

  5. Hey Kathy, your post reminds me how much fun I had after learning flower pounding from you! I don’t have a leftover stash of those fabrics but when spring comes I will be pounding again. The previous owner of our house was a premier flower gardner and we have many productive flower beds. Your project layout is lovely!

    1. Good morning, I really enjoyed flower pounding too-I learned about that over 20 years ago when we first retired and went to a fiber retreat with all sorts of classes-that was fun. I will take a photo of the little pillow I had made back then that still has color after all these years.
I am liking the layout too thanks
