Lots of Rain & Buying Online Woes & Off to the Moon

   Good morning,

(just a note all morning so far google is not letting me reply back to your comments-and I enjoy doing that as it gives me interaction with people-will try again later)

Saturday Update-Late last night I was able to comment back to yours-this morning while visiting your blogs-I could only leave a comment on a couple-the rest failed to publish-sigh Blogger needs a good fix but I am thinking they are not interested in doing so sigh-this is still free to use so don't like to complain too much)

The last couple of days and nights we have gotten Lots of rain here-much needed but this area I live in does get flooded especially Versailles, Mo They have done 2 years of road work already-changing the main intersection to a round about I think they are called-it's not completed so such a mess I don't like it. and this intersection area always floods-a lot so would be interesting to see if their labor project actually worked.  I wanted to go into town there but not willing to test it just yet-smiles.

I do a lot more ordering online now-it is easier for me and usually less expensive. This week I had major issues with my Wal Mart purchase. They split my order into two deliveries. The first one I never could find. Fedex takes photos now of the package-he/she took a photo in his truck looking down at the lake-weird haha.  So I got a refund for that one. Yesterday I got in the rest of my order. I am straightening up the last of my embroidery threads and getting them onto the cards and into the plastic boxes by color. I needed more-the price has gone up on those boxes-the ones I have already are mostly from garage sale finds. From their photos I ordered what I thought was the right size-actually thought these were all the same-opening up the box they are tiny-So this order was a total bust. I call into Wal mart and get their AI she tells me I can't  return my item-not believing "her" I ask for a real person-after several attempts she finally passes me to customer service. Yes I can return-I just have to take it to the Wal mart store for the refund. I am not caring for AI at all

We have been Sam's Club members for 34 years now-we still have kept it in our business name. Now that we have moved to the lake I am not driving on highways for over an hour to shop there-but I do love some of their items. Lately I have had major issues with them-their online site does not work most of the time, and again have to deal with AI and pretty much beg for a real person. I will not be renewing our membership in June. Life changes  as we get older and older-just the way of life.

Thanks for "listening" to my gripe session on buying online

Ever since I was a kid watching the space explorers-I always get excited when they blast off again-smiles.  This mission is their test run for landing on the moon again-and setting up a station there-Oh to be younger so I can watch this unfold.   When I was a kid and the first ones blasted into space-my school set up a large tv screen in the auditorium so we could watch. Do you enjoy following our space exploration?? I have always found it exciting for the explorers and fascinating.

Happy Passover and/or Easter if you Celebrate

  1. Kathy - it is so much easier to order on line and yet I know there are downfalls. Still think though the good does out weigh the bad. Our closest Walmart is about 30 minutes away and lots more traffic than I care to see...so for the most part online shopping works the best for me. We joined Costco this year and do make a 50 minute trip there every several weeks. The savings is worth it and we can order on line there too. Have a Happy Easter friend. Hugs!

    1. Hi Debbie, since moving to the lake house and now being Larry's caregiver it is just easier to buy things online. We are more rural for shopping here than when we lived in the woods.
sadly Sam's club has really gone downhill with their online buying-it's been over two years now with issues with them so I am going to not renew and they keep raising their yearly dues. They have a Plus card that was always free shipping-they took away the free shipping two years ago
Wal mart is usually pretty good online-this was a fedex delivery issue, and me not reading all the particulars for the embroidery boxes. oh well stuff happens haha
      Take care and Happy Easter

  3. I just got an email from Sams Club that they will be raising the membership rate $10. I only get a couple of things there, so will think about if I should let the membership lapse.

    1. We always had the business plus card-the plus gets you in the store earlier and they always had free shipping when shopping on line. Ours is due to renew June 1st and the price went up to over 100.00 I think 125.00 so no longer worth the money since their stores are too far away from us now and their online site is horrible. sad to let it go but not worth it anymore. I love the brand of bird food I get from them so will need to search for something else. I will buy two more bags before my membership runs out

  5. I can relate to your online purchase experience - I don't like AI at all either.
We did watch the Artemis II launch yesterday - I still remember all the Apollo missions and found them fascinating as a child. This was pretty cool, too, but I don't like the idea of building a base on the moon. Why can't we just leave it alone?

    1. I watched all the space missions too as a child-I am not all for building on the moon either-some if it sounds like military stuff too takes away from the awe of the moon for sure

  6. UGH on the online ordering. Bob had his c-pap order go to a neighbor way down the street from us. Thankfully we know all of our neighbors. She called Bob and told him she had his package. I watched the lift off yesterday. So glad they took off safely. I watched the Challenger and it was so sad seeing it live on tv. Janice

    1. So glad you are feeling better-hugs sorry you are still getting wintry weather. I feel good about getting the last of the threads onto cards and then organized by colors. I had inherited embroidery threads from both of my Grandmothers, my Mom my little sister, and I had some as well that I have bought and a big bag from a garage sale find. I can see the end now. Have 4 full quart bags left
      Happy Easter

  9. I'm sorry to hear you have so many customer service issues. I buy most things online (except groceries) and There hardly are any problems. If there are any problems, it's usually the courier. I live in a cave district (no streets, so no precise address). I usually ask them to leave the parcel at the book shop (two minutes on foot) or at the gas station. But sometimes they don't phone and that's where the problems start. Anyway, those occasions are rare. So I'm not complaining.
    Have a fab Easter weekend,
    Lisca

    1. These issues seem to come in spurts-most of the time no problems. That is interesting that you have no precise address-wondering now if that is why your Christmas card came back to me last year-I have gotten mail to you before but this time it did not and the stamp was not even cancelled. Happy Easter

  10. I´m so not happy with ordering online I try to buy local. "Package will arrive at..." - nothing. "Still 8 stations to go." - "Package went to a pack-station". (Which one?!) ... and so on.
Hihi. Ingo got dragged out of bed when the first moon-landing was on TV. He thought it was a comic and wanted to sleep! Hugs to you and the lake.

    1. Local is a great option here we live so rural nothing is really local-it is a half an hour drive in one direction about 45 minutes drive to the other town. Hugs back

  11. I watched the rocket blast off Wednesday. What struck me is this so many people weren't even born to remember the first series of rockets to the moon. Sorry I'm late. I'm finding a lot of the blogs I follow are showing up "late" on my reading list. Have a wonderful Easter. hugs-Erika

    1. I looked it up and 1961 was the first space launch and I was 12 years old then-so I have watched all of them-and I find them very exciting. When Glen went I remember being glued to the radio about his trip. It is exciting stuff smiles Happy Easter

  12. Hi Kathy,
As we get older we don’t mind not going out for necessities. Amazon gets a lot of our orders but we don’t have problems and our car stays home. My husband does the grocery shopping, our daughter uses her grocery store’s delivery service. I may do that someday. I saw all of the space launches growing up, but was more into it this time.

    1. Hi I don't have problems with Amazon either-and if I do they are quick to fix it right away. The pace launches are always exciting for me too

  13. Oh yes i'am a total space junkie...lol Love anything space... So sad when they shut down the Shuttle program... my hubby just sees it as a total waste of money ... i cannot convince him otherwise.. so i don't try anymore.. I just enjoy it for myself.. :)
As you know we don't purchase food online.. never have... I'm sorry for all your trouble.. AI or whatever it is.. automated stuff drives us up the wall.. So difficult to get to a real person anywhere anymore.. Act of Congress last week to return a weedeater.. at Lowes.. Everything at the VA is automated... you communicate through emails... Interesting note.. hubby must have been about 9/10 years old for the moon launches ... he doesn't remember them... I was about 2/3... i certainly don't but have always been fascinated with them and the 'space race'.. and how they all brought the nation together.. IMHO... lol Hugs! deb

    1. this evening comments are working again- I had to look it up-the first space mission was in 1961 so I was 12 years old then. I still remember watching it all live at my school back then-they made it exciting for us. Living more rural here and being Larry's care giver it is just easier and less stress for me to order things in. we have another big storm coming in tonight-ugh hugs back

  14. Sorry about the comments not working. I've read others having those issues too.

No, not an AI fan either. Yes, it is returnable. Why it even said not returnable is beyond me. Glad you got a real person.

    Happy Spring.

  16. The only online ordering we have used is Amazon and there are sometimes issues with where the deliveries are left in the apartment building even though there is a designated package room. Grocery shopping is done in person as there are 3 large stores close by. I understand that at home deliveries help many, like yourself, but when they go astray it’s a headache too. Glad your issues were sorted out, Kathy. Best sishes to you and Larry for the holiday.
