Embroidery Floss Organized

I finished up with the last bag of assorted embroidery floss placing them onto cards and in boxes.

Before we moved to the lake house, a neighbor friend that did a lot of embroidery work taught me about the floss onto cards and then placing them into boxes by colors. I had found three boxes at the time at garage sales and bought the cardboard cards. My friend had found an antique piece on a stand and made out of wood full of many deep drawers-she had this full of her embroidery threads.

Just before Larry's accident I had gotten back to tackling all the floss I had acquired. I needed a break from stitching so decided to tackle this again. I bought three boxes that I found on Amazon-made in the USA and each box included 50 of the cards. I also had bought 200 of the cardboard cards-or bobbins.

I ended up using at least 300 cards-Wow haha. The boxes are sorted by colors. I have a full box of greens, one full of neutral colors and browns, and almost full or partial full of yellows-orange, red, blues and purples and a box of varigated and odds.

Quite the job but I started this project when our weather went cold and rainy and finished it up today. A job well done smiles.

I got a surprise knock on the door late morning today-it was a neighbor I had not met that lives on acreage above us that overlooks the lake in all directions.  I knew this was a young family and she home schools.I had met her husband one winter. They have chickens so I love the rooster in the morning-I need to be brave and go visit them one day. She had made these giant carrot muffins placed on a pretty plastic plate and wrapped up. with saran wrap. A nice surprise for sure.

   Happy new week
