Couldn't Help Myself-Snoopy Came Home With Me

I did my big monthly shopping at Wal Mart this morning. Bought a couple bags of bird seed as well to try as I won't be buying the seed I really like from Sam's Club anymore. I also bought a bag of that stuff you put around your home to keep ticks and ants from getting indoors.

I get ants in the kitchen every spring here at the lake house-so far have not seen them this year. I do keep ant bait traps scattered around as well in this area a month or so before Spring. There are always tons of ants in the soil here too- wonder why that is.

I was also looking for some new rugs to go in front of the two doors-and fell in love with this Snoopy rug. This is made to be an outdoor rug-but decided to place indoors going out to the deck instead. I was thinking in front of the main entrance facing the steps-but then wasn't sure how long the colors would last-so decided to enjoy it indoors for now.

This was a big trip catching up with laundry supplies and some canned goods-so I was exhausted getting everything in from on top of the hill and steps into the house. It gives me much needed exercise though-as I am mostly indoors since Larry's accident.

I am hoping to get some grass cut tomorrow before the rain and storms come in.

  Happy mid-week

  4. Ants... scorpions...spiders... pinching bugs... and they all want in... the ticks are kept under control because we are so dry here... or thats my theory.. Oh we have them but not in numbers especially since we have no animals.. Love your rug! So glad you found it .. i know how you love snoopy :) Rain expected over the weekend for us.. Hugs! deb

    1. Ticks were always bad at the woods house-I haven't had much of an issue with ticks here-but that family up on top-as they cleaned up the property all last years-critters have been moving down to our area-we are see the fox here and the groundhog is back I think too-a lot of digging in the grass when I was mowing this morning we have rain coming in tomorrow- I wanted to cut more grass but after yesterday and I cut a lot early this morning my body says no haha

  7. I get ants every year too. Someone mentioned to try diatomaceous earth around a foundation. I need to try that because those ants are really a pain especially when they are in the kitchen. And I love your Snoopy rug. I had a Christmas one, but this one looks perfect for spring and summer. Have a wonderful weekend and hopefully no big storms. hugs-Erika

  9. Happy mid-week to you too (although it's Friday now).
I love your Snoopy rug! I can totally understand it had to come home with you!
Yes, ants are a pain. Problem is, one doesn't know where the nest is or where the eggs are, then, as you say, they just appear out of the ground!
    Have a great weekend,
    Lisca

    1. I agree that is the issue not know when the ants originate from-I am hoping this stuff I bought to place around the outside of the house will keep them away. I fell in love with this rug as soon as I saw it-haha. It makes me smile-a good thing You have an awesome weekend too

    1. What do you spray with? This bag that I found at wal mart I used at the woods house-as it keeps the ticks away as well-which am thankful we don't have too many of those here at this house Happy weekend
