Did you enjoy the games this year if you watched?
I love to watch sports so I always look forward to the Olympics. This morning I watched the USA and Canada Hockey gold-silver metal game. It was awesome and an emotional game for sure. Last time the States won gold was back in 1980. They also had lost one of their team members from a traffic accident I think it was.
So now back to regular tv programing haha I don't usually watch any tv during the day. A little news early in the morning-and even though we are pretty much stuck in the house since Larry's accident I don't watch tv during the day at all (except for the Olympics) but watch a bit in the evening.
I decided to bake me up a batch of cookies late afternoon today. I had bought cacoa chips no sugars etc added for cookies for me. All chocolate is a huge no no for acid reflux-but I thought I would try it. I changed all the sugar to keto sweeteners with my gluten free flour, and used plant butter and coconut oil instead of butter-- so will see how these turn out and how my body handles it. These chips are only cacoa nothing else added at all. most chocolate chips have sugar and fats added to them. I just put a pan in the oven just now to see how they bake up.
My husband's health has gotten so much worse these past few days. He has many health issues so that horrible fall just made things worse for him. His heart function is extremely low to begin with-even after the last operation with a new valve 5 years ago- but most of his heart is no longer working. At the time I asked the doctor how much time the valve would give him-said usually around 5 years. I have mentioned this before but the health care is horrible in this area, so he wants no part of going to a hospital-I don't blame him and there is nothing more the doctors can do at this point. As things worsen I will look into more home care for him. He has really suffered so much these past 2 plus years. Those of you that pray please add my husband to your prayer list to ease his pain.
I did pick up the lining to finish hand stitching the seams so I can add it to the second slow stitch bag-and finish that one up. I have not been back to painting since that last piece that I put into a frame. I do have a background set up though-which is calling me to get back to.
Those of you on the east coast-sounds like you have another winter blizzard coming in-stay safe and warm and I just saw on the news that Mexico is totally being attacked in the whole country by the cartels-scary.
I just took out the cookies and cooled them a bit-they taste really good but baked up too soft and really spread out too much so tomorrow will mix in more flour.
Be safe and have a good new week
I certainly will add your husband to my prayer list.
ReplyDeletePraying for Larry. Sucks that health care in your area is not that great. YAY for the USA! Janice

ReplyDeleteI will pray for your husband, Kathy. And, yes, I enjoyed the winter Olympics.
ReplyDeleteSending lots of prayers and good energy for your husband Kathy. And for you too. It's hard to take care of someone. I watched the hockey game this morning too. It was exciting. Enjoy your cookies. hugs-Erika
