Good morning, I did one of those scans on my computer this morning-to get rid of bad stuff, and it messed up this blog.
Have spent most of the morning figuring out how to get back in-I finally did-not sure what I did-haha-I bookmarked the page that I got in on-but I did that last time this happened and that didn't work, so will see what happens-ugh.
I know nothing at all about computers-I did not grow up with tech so I am understanding now why my Mom couldn't figure out how to work on a computer that my brother insisted she needed. (years ago now)
We have Direct tv streaming which I love-but only when it is working. Larry's tv went out last night, and this morning I still couldn't get it to work-so will need to call for help-again. The tv's are very frustrating but I do like the streaming much better-they need to improve their tech.
I am a farm girl at heart-so this is all too much for this senior haha I enjoy my blog as you all are my contact to people-will see how long my blog works this time smiles
On a more positive note-I cleaned up the room where my desk and computer is-along with shelves of cookbooks I kept-after a huge purge-a couple 100 cookbooks (got donated to library sale) the woodworkers table of Larry's I brought home before his fall over the wall and lots of odds and ends-Kinda like a catch all room My weaving loom is in this space as well.
I wanted a bigger house with at least one more room or a huge extra room for me but Larry said No-we are seniors now--.when we were looking for lake homes..
Anyways I couldn't sleep last night, so I ended up playing with a fabric layout for my next slow stitch bag til midnight.
Sorry the lighting is poor is this room
Photos will enlarge-just click on them.
I am getting low on my own personal stash of my hand dyed fabrics, and that flower is part of the last of my flower pounding on to fabric about 20 years ago.
This last photo I just realized is upside down-the ironing board is actually in front of this woodworkers table
I think I am pleased with this lay out-fabrics need trimmed to size for their spaces-then pinning it all down before the slow stitches. The second bag I have been working on, I will get back to finishing up this week.
Wow we are into January 2025 now similes
This post did not show up in my feed ... the post before this one was still highlighted.. Usually when your up and running correctly you show up in my feed correctly so i don't know.. fingers crossed.. I do not do tech well either.. and i have no real interest in learning. ... hubby is the tech guru... i just want it to work...lol Hubby has all our bills attached to the computer.. He pays it all that way.. I worry if something should happen to him i'll be lost plus if something should happen to the computer i wouldn't know how to fix it.. I would rather just pay the bills old school but then the mail sucks too.. no win.. I hope it all works out Kathy.. I enjoy my blog still so i know how frustrated you must be.. Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI pay most of our bills online too-it's faster saves time and money too-and the post office is getting so bad lately they need to fix it hugs
DeleteYou are doing well coping with the computer
ReplyDeleteThanks it got me stressed out for sure and I just Larry's directv streaming set up-that is a stress too figuring it all out
DeleteI still do not know how to stream tv shows. Neither does Bob. We are old farts regarding technology. Glad you got your blog back. I was thinking last night myself where I am going to put my computer once I retire in a few months. I so wish we had a 3 bedroom house now. Oh well. Will need to figure it out....and soon. Janice
ReplyDeleteThis house has 4 extra rooms-a main bedroom, two smaller ones side by side-one is Larry's space, and I took the other one, then there is a room off the kitchen area that has no heat, glass sliding doors-and a cheapy closet-this space used to be a porch of some sort I think-as it has a door that goes out the side-so that is my everything else room haha. The rooms are all very small too. a large living room type area in front of that glass wall looking at the lake. If someone wanted a formal dining room it's not here.
Deleteat our ages and health now smaller is ok now. I love the directv streaming-when it works-but it goes out so much and is so difficult to get back online.
I worked on Larry's tv but his remote was not working-so I used the one for my tv in the living room-got him back on. Now my tv doesn't work with that remote.. so now no tv in the living area. I need to call them to see what to do -but I am too tired now to deal with it.
I've always been techy. However, you have to stay up with it, or you get left behind. I'm noticing I'm losing some tech brain cells the older I get. It's very fast moving - we blink and they're on to something new,and improved.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you with your blog. They messed me up as well. And then there are others who don't have any issues. Blogger doesn't like me much either.
Hugs
DeleteOhhh nothing worse than computer troubles. I have also always been a techy. Debby is right though, things change so fast that you have to keep up on it all. As for the layout of your fabric I love it. Well done indeed.
ReplyDeletethank you much Nicole
DeleteI think technology is like anything. Some people are great at it and some struggle. My husband struggles, and he grew up with it more than my mom who was a whiz with it, even though she was probably in her 60's when she first came across a computer. Of course, as everyone has said, you have to keep up with it for certain, and unless you're in the business, who can? Sometimes some of these changes just seem like pain in the you knew where. Hope you can get everything squared away. And you fabric looks beautiful even in the dark light. Fabric playing looks like a lot of fun. Happy weekend. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteIs a smart phone like a computer? I never used one of those-so would be pretty lost figuring it out I think. Yes playing with fibers is my happy place for sure-hugs
DeleteHi Kathy, You know how good I am (not) with this tech stuff. The best advice I was ever given came from you, “keep it simple”. Love your flower, pounding fabrics. We had a lot of fun doing that a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteFlower pounding was fun wasn't it-I only had one piece that kept most of it's flower colors-I made it into a mini pillow that sits on my desk with other arty things.
DeleteI just noticed the stuff about your bags... i didn't see that before or you just added it ...lol AND this post is now in my feed! Such alot of pretty fabric you have Kathy.. I look forward to seeing more of your bags come to life... It is odd how just in the time of your life when you have more time to do the things you want to do... not working etc.. that everyone talks of downsizing.. when people like you and me need space to spread out all our crafts and hobbies.. etc.. lol Just met a neighbor who when talking with hubby said he's bored and going back to work... same way hubbly feels.. Built the beautiful shop for him and now he has no interest getting out there.. would rather work........oy vey......I hope you get some rest Kathy and that Larry is doing well and you have some precious time and energy to make your bags.....Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI agree when we moved to the lake house I ended up with a much smaller room-but I kept everything!! including all the vintage trunks I used in my original craft room-very very crowded in there but I can manage to get around-two walls have heavy duty shelving-industrial so those are filled with dye making, paper making, books fabrics and much more. this room has a stairway to the attic-which I have packed full with tubs of fabrics-and fibers for spinning. I have what ever I am in the mood for even a huge trunk full of leather scraps we bought years ago when we were going to rendiouvious (wrong spelling-fur trappers and native american type of things.
DeleteI have been in a slump of nothingness since Larry's bad fall-this year I am determined to get back to my art and crafts. and started reading my Grandma's bible too
I'm always so relieved when I've sent out my blog posts and everything worked... I always check it immediately on my phone. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well for you, dear Kathy.
ReplyDeleteYour new bag is going to be fantastic again... with those beautiful fabrics you've dyed so wonderfully.
Sending you warm greetings and wishing you both all the very best for 2026. Hugs from Viola
Thank you soooo much Viola-many of these are not my own dyed fabrics as am beginning to run out of them-which was the point in making these bags-smiles Happy New Year hugs
DeleteComputers seem to be a world on their own... I'm not completely clueless, but I'm not exactly a techy either. The stuff still intimidates me, even though I have worked with computers for so many years. We don't have regular TV anymore and only stream, partly with VPN for German films and shows. It sometimes has its hiccups, but works well most of the time. Being married to an engineer helps a lot with stuff like this...
ReplyDeleteYour fabric layout looks good and I'm sure your slow stitch bag will turn out beautifully.
Thank you so much Carola I really like streaming much better too-and perfect to have an engineer in the house-hugs
DeleteI have two old PCs and oh. What a trouble I´m in, too. Your fabric looks interesting and weee... tomorrow: Big cleanup. Hugs to you and the lake, still so much to arrange for Perth.
ReplyDeleteI will visit you soon to find out what you have been up too I have been off line for several days now
DeleteThere can't exist anything as annoying as computer problems. My son works in the business of all that tech stuff and I'm amazed at what he can do. I sure hope you get things back to normal.
ReplyDeleteOh that is awesome to have tech help in the family-hugs
