Good morning,
Our temperatures are dropping and we got rain in the very early morning hours today. Looking ahead our weather will be more normal for autumn-we have been spoiled by mother nature for sure since September. Those of you in Texas and surrounding states hoping you are not getting flooded??
I want to focus on my watercolor practices to just be spontaneous with it and to have fun. Not to over think things.(which I usually do) So I went through my big folder of magazine clippings that I had saved for journal type pages, inspiration and to share in slow mail letters, and chose this one:
I am pretty pleased with this one.
In one of my meat packages I had bought an organic free range turkey-so hoping this will be better tasting than store bought. I haven't been happy with those turkeys lately. I have it defrosting in the freezer which I read will take 3-5 days. Are you ready for Thanksgiving?
Enjoy your day

ReplyDeleteSmiles not a pro for sure but I am liking this one
DeleteWe will be on a road trip to NJ and PA for Thanksgiving, so no food prep will be needed. However, last weekend, a turkey breast was cooked here at home and we enjoyed it most of this week. Nice to see how much you are enjoying the water color painting, Kathy. Sending good wishes to you and Larry for 🦃
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Thanksgiving holiday trip-sounds fun and being with family is special-hugs
DeleteI love to prepare just a turkey breast too when I can find them. Thank you much, I am enjoying the watercolors again-
We have quiet Thanksgiving before Christmas explodes. We made the decision to go to a lovely inn in our area for dinner. It will cap ourv50 year anniversary year.

Sounds awesome Cathy
DeleteBarbara, you have not lost your touch for creating beautiful art. This is truly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is Kathy, thank you Barbara is an amazing artist
DeleteWell done.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteWow, this came out great, thumbs up, chapeau!
ReplyDeleteI am not lying, I think in Germany (or Europe?) you cannot buy a turkey. There are slices of turkey-meat at times but never a whole one - I only know that from American movies. Will you stuff it? Would you like to share pics? We don´t even celebrate Thanksgiving.
There is Ernte-Dank (say thanks for the harvest), but that is merely church-based. At least here.
Hugs to you and the lake.
Good morning Iris, Here we celebrate Thanksgiving because of the first groups of peoples that came to America on ships from Europe-for a better life-actually getting away from tyranny etc. and the story goes that the Native American peoples shared a feast with them, and the new people from Europe were thankful.
DeleteYears ago yes I would stuff the turkey-but I no longer do that any more. sadly at our ages now-no family so just the two of us. This year I bought a farm raised grass fed organic turkey so hoping it's better than store bought.
Hugs back
Oh and thank you about this painting-my goal is paint something at least once a week
DeleteIt's beautiful! I would be thrilled if I could paint it.
ReplyDeleteI love that you challenged yourself by not overthinking. I love when we challenge ourselves in whatever area at the time. It's wonderful and your art is FANTASTIC!
