Good afternoon, we have been blessed with really nice weather this month, but that is changing fast starting tonight. Low 20's and teens at night starting tomorrow for a lot of days.
Of course our furnace-still under warranty til early January is not working-again. We bought a Trane and have had nothing but major issues with it. sigh.
So of course I am stressed over this. With our health especially Larry's we need heat. We do have a small little plug in heater that Larry can use if it comes to that.
I have been doing a deep cleaning this week, I usually have this all done before November. I have one more room and the bathroom to clean-my craft-art room I don't worry about haha.
I am keeping our Thanksgiving meal really simple this year. Larry does not eat a lot so the whole turkey will be the star, and I will serve just a couple sides and will make the from scratch cranberry sauce. I have a pecan pie in the freezer, but will make a pumpkin pie or a sweet potato pie-not sure which yet.
I started working on my Christmas cards over last weekend-Doing something totally different this year. The international cards will get mailed a bit after Thanksgiving just waiting for a white stamp pad I purchased.
For those in the States that celebrate
Happy Thanksgiving
Everytime i sit down for a min i think ' i need to get going on the Christmas cards' then when i get up to get busy with something bam ! It just goes out of my mind.. lol I think i have a simple design this year... I'll be water coloring a drawing of mine... so we'll see how that goes...lol Water color kinda has a will of its own....lol... I can't wait to see your card! As long as everything goes smooth i will have gotten away from store bought cards... finally... I think i did mostly handmade cards last year ... just a couple last minute store bought cards when i ran out of time... I think we are cooling down here too... cold in the 30's F but not below freezing.. Oh! Thank you for the comment on the blog! The last few years now we have just done the breast and nobody seems to mind.. Much love and happy Thanksgiving wishes! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI made my own cards for years, and then the last couple of years I found original paintings by artists made into cards on Etsy. The artist I really liked did not have anything new for this year. I looked around but the price for others on Etsy for their artist cards were too expensive.
DeleteSo I found something totally different-I hope everyone likes them.
Larry only will eat the white meat, I like all of it ha ha It won't go to waste as I will freeze the meat and make soup stock as well
Happy Thanksgiving
What a lovely surprise to see you commenting on my blogpost. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI gather Larry is not very well. What a nightmare that, on top of everything else, your new stove is not working properly. I hope it gets sorted. Preferably with a completely new one.
I'm not sending Christmas cards this year. The postage has gone up so much, it's ridiculous. I'll just contact people by whichever means (Whatsapp, email, Facebook or Messenger).
I don't remember when Thanksgiving is, but it's in November so it should be soon.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Lisca
Thank you Lisca, postage has gotten too expensive here in the states too sadly. I do enjoy the process of writing and sending out the cards at Christmas though-so I will still do that.
DeleteThanksgiving here in the States is this week Thursday a lot of wintry and cold weather coming in as well for most of the country.
So glad you dropped by hugs
Hi, it’s me Barb. I should change my name to “anonymous”, it’s all I know how to do. And thanks to Kathy’s advice to keep it simple, I am not going to stress about it. I’ll have fun, all are welcome who want to visit my blog

I will be happy for what works for me! I have a cool face Face off Friday photo this week!
Two of our 4 kids including grandkids, 3 teens and 2 toddlers will be here for turkey day, I am banned from the kitchen😀 Our other 2 older kids are coming from afar for Christmas.
It’s lovely time of year, best holiday wishes for all!
Hi Barb-yes just keep it all simple When you click on comments it opens up to annyomous or google if you click on google it will put your blog infor in for you.
DeleteSo happy your kids and grandkids are coming in for the holidays that is special hugs. Sadly we have no family left-I couldn't have kids so no children or grandchildren and now of course at our ages our parents and grandparents are no longer with us.
In our younger years I would prepare a huge feast and welcomed in soldiers or nearby friends that had no family-so that was always a lot of fun through the years. Our woods home was close to Ft Leonard so we put the word out we would welcome in a couple soldiers to our table
Happy Thanksgiving
