The Leaves are Falling

I was watching a new Hallmark series (that I had recorded) yesterday afternoon and Wow looking out the window- it was raining leaves.

I grabbed the camera and was able to capture a couple photos.  In the background on the second photo it shows the leaves had finally turned to their fall colors here on Lake.in the Ozarks

I am someone that does Not like wind-and the winds started howling last night early and continues into this morning along with the huge temperature drop. Thinking well it is autumn and it is November-we have been very spoiled. The first freeze may come in tonight.

I haven't done much in my craft room lately-actually most of the summer-so I think I will do that today.   I started a bean soup yesterday and transferred it to the slow cooker this morning. I may bake up a small skillet of cornbread to go with it. sounds good for a blustery fall day

  Enjoy your day!

  2. I really hate the wind and that is all we have here year round. The photos of the leaves are amazing shots. If you are going to the art room consider my self portrait challenge on FFO. The instructions are at the bottom of this page. No pressure, it's a fun thing, https://beadwright.blogspot.com/2025/11/friday-face-off-11725.html I made bean soup and corn bread the other day. It's the perfect comfort food. Have a great day today.

    1. Good morning Mary I just got up a bit ago (6:30 am) and it's below 20 F degrees what a shock to the system-my blooms are gone now too sigh. That was taken with my favorite camera that finally quit working after many good years of photos. the new is so poor quality and I don't have a cell phone. glad I kept some of those photos.
      Happy Monday and new week

  6. Kathy yeah - I found you. Your weather is like ours today...ice on the deck and car in the early morning. Lovely colors friend. This fall has been a strange one for us...due to dry weather many leaves turned color and fell around the first of Sept. Then we got rain in October and warm weather which made everything fall behind. Now we are looking at November colors which are always muted. So glad you are still out there blogging...hats off for not giving up during this challenge. Hugs!

    1. Good morning, my original blog got totally messed up for some reason-got aggravated with it so deleted it and prevented me from starting a new one for awhile this one took awhile to work had to stop approving comments for that part to work-I was suppose to lose my google emails but so far I still have them hoping those don't disappear.
I agree this one is much easier to read. Autumn is my favorite month thanks for stopping by

  11. It's actually a really great idea to take the big temperature drop and the blustery weather as a cue to retreat into your craft room. Honestly, is there anything better on a day like this than the smell of bean soup simmering in the slow cooker and a skillet of cornbread baking? That whole setup just screams comfort and productivity.

Hope you have a productive and warm day crafting.

  12. Bean soup sounds very good. I don't have a slow cooker but do have an electric pressure cooker that I make soups in. I hear though, the slow cooker really does a soup justice with the slow cooking method. Very cool.

What things do you like to craft? I am new here. I like to draw, take photos, paint furniture and stuff like that.

    1. Hi, glad you found me again. I do love the slow cooker in the cooler months-nice too for a small whole chicken, or roasts.
I am mostly fiber-weaving, spinning, embroidery, slow stitches things like that. I should try to draw-I am no artist in that regard or painting-I just always wanted to be able to paint a nice sunset etc
      Happy new week
