Good morning mid-week
Total weather craziness haha. We have had bitter cold temps for several days that started out with very very strong winds. Today we are jumping up to low '70's F but Friday 90 F? Well this is Missouri Ozarks but this is pretty crazy for sure. I will need to unbox my new lawn mower, our one neighbor that doesn''t live here full time came in last night-so will ask him to help me unbox it and set it up for me..
Don't remember if I shared this but when I visited our new family doctor to set up being his patient, I mentioned about my husband and he said I do house calls. Wow game changer for us. Larry's health is failing more this past month. The new doctor came yesterday early afternoon-so I spent a day doing a total cleaning in the house-it needed to be done again before spring but now I just have one more area to do and defrost the old chest freezer soon-been putting that off.
All of the appliances are old here-so I will need to upgrade most everything soon. Not looking forward to figuring all that out at the moment. I soooo want a gas stove too-so will need to figure out how to change the electric there over to gas.
That's about it for here just wanted to pop in for a post to share.
How is your weather?
The eastern side of the state has the same weather as yours; it just gets to us a day later!
ReplyDeleteawesome-I am not ready for 90's yet though
DeleteOh So GOOD about the doctor for Larry... I'm so sorry he's been declining Kathy... my heart goes out to you.. The weather has been a string of cool days and cold nights with each day being a little warmer... and by Friday we will be close to 100 so not ready for that... the saving grace is it would be 100 until around 3-4pm instead of like in the Summer where it could be 100 at 10 am... right now i have the heat on... crazy...
ReplyDeleteI finished the SkateBoard! So nice to finish a project AND like 2 weeks to spare...lol so unlike me! Now i'm putting a couple layers of Satin clear coat on it.. Hubby would like it Glossy but i never liked glossy on most things.. too much glare... I like how it turned out so much i almost hate to give it away...lol Except the fact its on a SkateBoard .. no desire to hang that on a wall...lol Take care! Hugs! deb
Thank you Deb-be sure to show us your finish on the skateboard-looked amazing last time you posted. I guess a lot of states are getting this crazy weather-hugs back
DeleteFinished and with a clear coat.. took some pics just need to make a post hopefully later today.. i need to get to bed now..lol Hugs! deb
DeleteFreezing in Toronto. I heard gas stoves aren't healthy recently. Something about the gas fumes.
ReplyDeletei will check that out-they are usually safe here in the states-and this house at the lake has natural gas unlike the propane we had at the woods house
DeleteIn the Arkansas house we spent $5000... can't imagine what it would be now.. to hook up our propane tank to the house... We ran lines to put in a gas stove in the kitchen and a line to run our gas grill on the deck and lines to run our fireplaces upstairs and down.. Cooked nice... kept us warm but boy the fumes would get to me sometimes and i 'd rather be cold than run the fireplace.. Sometimes we left a window open a little... Never seemed to bother hubby much but it did me.. Hubby couldn't handle burning wood because of his asthma... :) Hugs! deb
DeleteI had a commercial wolf 10 burner stove with two ovens on propane gas at the woods house and never an issue at all-after Larry couldn't cut and split wood for us we hooked up the gas furnace-never had a problem with fumes. I do really miss not being able to burn wood in a woodstove especially during an extremely cold winter like we just had--I may see if we can repair the chimney here at the lake house so I can burn wood again-saves on the gas bill too I have pretty bad asthma and never bothered me-but nope being around cigarette smoke-I don't allow any smoking in the house
Deletewow that sounds like a lot of money to hook up probably all the pipes etc
DeleteThe propane tank was there when we bought the house but it was out by the shop and its only job was to heat the shop so yeah probably ... we did have to run alot of pipe...
DeleteThat is fabulous about the doctor making house calls. I'm very sorry about Larry's health. I personally love using propane. I would definitely change over if I owned this house. The electric here is very expensive. Glad you have someone to help you with the new mower. Stay warm over there.
ReplyDeleteThank you The propane for the woods house-haven't been able to sell it yet-was extremely expensive this year highest it has ever been since we bought it 1999 I never had an issue with it when we lived there-but we mostly cut wood for the two woodstoves-loved that
Delete27 degrees right now and windy. Is there no such thing as a happy medium anymore?
ReplyDeleteI know right? that's what we had and colder at night the last several days
DeleteAfter all the high winds all weekend, we have had winter again. It's cold but the temps will be going up a little bit each day. Not very warm, but the sun is shining and that helps a lot. So sorry Larry isn't feeling well but wow-such a help for a house call doctor!!!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon-your area of the country has had a rough winter and it keeps coming at you.
DeleteThis was awesome about the house call-and it has been available through medicare-most doctors don't want to do it-and this new doctor really enjoys it-he comes with his nurse, told Larry he makes a lot more money too. I thanked them numerous times.
It was in the 30's today with a bit of flurries. So glad the new doctor will do house calls. Sorry to hear about Larry's heath decline. Prayers to you. Janice
ReplyDeleteThank you I am liking this new doctor-young, full of knowledge good listener too
DeleteMother Nature is letting her hyperactive nephew set the temperature
ReplyDeleteSmiling-Yes indeed
DeleteThe temperature here in Montreal has been like a yo-yo.
ReplyDeleteHere as well a crazy year so far with the weather-92 F on saturday
DeleteA doctor that does house calls?!?!? We are going to see the 70's the next few days here in South Dakota!
ReplyDeleteYes this is amazing service for my husband-he is a young doctor-found out medicare pays for it and he gets paid more-and he is not stuck in the clinic. wow that sounds warm too for your area
DeleteIt is definitely spring in Greece, Kathy. Flowers bloom everything. It is beautiful! Hugs, my friend.
ReplyDeleteSounds beautiful-hugs
DeleteWow Kathy this is great news that your doctor will do house calls. Am sorry to read that Larry's health is not good. Will keep him in my prayers as well as you too. We had terrible high winds here last Friday...fortunately we did not lose power but many in our county and surrounding counties have been with power now for almost a week. Our church opened their doors for folks to come in and have meals served for them and to just get warm and take a shower. Then on Monday in the evening received two inches of snow after being 76 on Friday. Yes the weather is certainly all over the place. Happy spring is right! Hugs
ReplyDeleteGood morning-this is awesome news especially since to get out of the lake house-steep steps and then steep paved hill to the top-what were we thinking?? haha He is a young doctor and amazing-says medicare pays for it and he enjoys getting out of the clinic. Your area and the east coast has had such a long winter-a lot of us got those strong winds-we are set low by the lake think that helps us a bit- yes Happy Spring early hugs
DeleteHow wonderful that you found a doctor who does house calls! That is really rare and perfect for Larry. I'm very sorry to read that his health is declining, that must be very worrisome for you.
ReplyDeleteWe hav had a warmer than usual March. Yesterday it was 92 F - thankfully it always cools down in the evening and the nights can still be quite chilly.
Good evening yes this younger doctor took over for the doctor we had-got moved to further location from us. I am really liking this doctor so far. It is very worrisome-it has always been mostly just the two of us-even more so when we moved to the lake.
DeleteOur weather has been so up and down-but that seems to be the norm in this area of Missouri-took me a long time to get used when we moved here after I retired from the phone co.
still can't get over we are to be over 90 f this weekend-there were more boats on the lake today too.
cooler night still for us too-thankful for that
We have a supposed snow storm coming Sunday night. And it's been chilly and raw. But 90 degrees is like August. This weather is crazy, isn't it? So sorry to read about Larry. I hope the new doctor can give Larry some good advice and help. And I know about appliances. We're going to need some at my house soon too. Hope the 90 degrees isn't too hot. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteOh no-I would be so bummed with even more snow where you live-this sounds like a record amount of snow-so glad we missed all the snow this winter-getting harder for me to get it all shoveled Yes ugh on appliances-we need replace most everything here this year I am thinking-even the hot water heater looks like it needs to be replace too 90 will be hot but so far the evenings are still cooling us down
DeleteHere in my corner of the world we don’t get those dramatic jumps at all. 🌴 It’s hot and humid year-round, so no unboxing lawn mowers after a freeze or switching from heaters to fans overnight. I can imagine how challenging it must be to keep up with those shifts!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your new doctor is making house calls, that sounds like such a blessing for you and Larry. 💛
Good evening Veronica-yes the house calls are a blessing for Larry-I have thanked them numerous times. Your weather sounds nice to be all the same-but I do like spring and autumn here in the ozarks-Missouri. the summers can be extreme with the humidity and high temps-I would not care for that year round-but a good trade off from winter though--thanks for visiting
DeleteI'm sorry his health is bad but so glad the new doctor comes to the house. That is a game changer for sure.
