It's Friday the 13th

Good morning, Had not realized today was Friday the 13th-til I looked up the date to place on my slow mail cards this morning-haha.

In the past Larry never drove any where on any Friday the 13's-just to be cautious and safe-smiles.

I don't think about it much-but I do remember when I was still working-I was a telephone operator-back when we were needed-during the Halloween season there was a Friday the 13th-I worked nights a lot-and Wow the phone calls were very crazy haha

We were in the 80's F for a couple of days but now we are very chilly again-which is difficult on our bodies-so up and down. It took me years to get used to this weather when we retired down to this area in Missouri

March 15th is opening day for spoonbill fishing-so lakes in this area will be craziness-including where I am Lake in the Ozarks. This is Larry's favorite fish-as their is no fish smell and no fishy taste-just excellent solid white fish meat.  I found this record breaker catch in this lake a couple years ago here  This huge fish is also called a paddlefish. We have a friend that does a lot of fishing-will ask him if he will fish for spoonbill this season-and ask if I can have some Smiles

Enjoy your Friday and weekend

Just a note Blogger is not letting me post a comment back to yours this morning-have tried several times now-

  1. Oh i give Friday the 13th a passing thought the same way i do a black cat crossing my path and not walking under a ladder... I have never altered my day for Friday the 13th like Larry...I have always heard it called a Paddlefish... we had them in Beaver Lake in AR too.. The weather here has been crazy... Hitting 90's already and near freezing expected this next week... I'm not complaining about the cold ... i'm not ready for the heat... Hugs! and stay safe today!! deb

    1. I don't think too much about the 13th either but when I was working and had a very long drive to and from I usually tried to get that day switched with another day. We are getting the same crazy weather here too but hits the mid 80's not 90's I am so not ready for that summer heat to stay Hugs

  2. Of course I don't believe in any of that nonsense of Friday the 13th and would certainly not alter my day for it. Larry must have had some bad experience of Friday the 13th... How is Larry nowadays?
I looked at your link to see the spoonbil fish (or paddle fish) It's huge! I have never eaten it (Not even heard of it actually) but no fish smell and no fish taste? I want my fish to taste of fish really.
    Have a lovely weekend,
    Lisca

    1. Hi Lisca, thank you for your visit. Larry's health is declining more this month-I have been preparing myself. Larry won't eat fish if it smells like fish or is oily He loves to go fishing though and is why we moved here to the lake. I have really enjoyed the views here-gorgeous sunrises out our windows every morning.
Yes the spoonbill or paddle fish is Huge so you need a special fishing rod to handle the weight-the fish put up quite a fight too-which fisherman enjoy. This is a short season once a year to catch this fish-I am surprised that this man made lake has this giant fish here.
      Happy weekend-hugs

  5. I have a co-worker who would never come to work on a Friday the 13th, nor would she leave her house. Hope you get some spoonbill. Sounds delish. Janice
