I have a finish!
This was a lot of embroidery stitches to put together. That one edge did not have enough fabric to sew another fabric on to it-and I didn't like the look of adding fabric to all the edges or perhaps just two sides.
I have very little fabrics left in my sewing stash but I did find a perfect piece-kinda an off beige so I placed that behind the whole panel and did embroidery running stitches on the edges.
In the photo the edge with no fabric under that stitch row is on the bottom of the pillow. I also needed to embroider over all those lines on the outside that did not wash out.
At least I was able to get a finish. I stitched around 10 -12 hours yesterday, and half of today.
I have a triangle oak chair that goes with my Mom's vintage ranch oak desk that I use for my computer and paying bills. Very uncomfortable to sit in, so I changed it out to a different chair for my desk, and used it for these pillows
The back pillow was made from fabric that I received from Mia years ago-very thoughtful of her-all fish for our lake house. (photos will enlarge just click for better view)
I clipped the left and right sides and I still had left over pieces of cotton batting from quilting that I tore up for these two pillows
So now that I got these two pillows made that I bought just before Larry's accident-I will move on to the bags I am making for my slow mail friends. Also will start laying out those pieces of vintage kantha blocks into a quilt. I think that will be fun-and hopefully sew up fast on my sewing machine.
I wanted to get out of the house and take a walk around our circle here today, but there is a very strong odor out there-possibly from someone burning something
Happy midweek

ReplyDeleteHave fun with your latest art piece. I just got back from a little grocery shopping at the local grocery store-a little more money bit didn't feel like dealing with wal mart. we had a little rain this morning-now full sun and going up to 70's but will crash temperatures tonight and next few days-typical Missouri weather though I happy with the finish wasn't another way around it really Hugs
